Stitch

These works are made with a method developed from stitch-and-glue, a technique used in building wooden kayaks and boats. Panels of plywood or acrylic, cut on a laser cutter, are sewn together with copper wire and drawn tight, producing complex forms without a mold.
木製のカヤックやボートの製作に用いられる「ステッチ＆グルー工法」をもとに考えた方法で制作している。レーザー加工機で切り出した合板やアクリルの部品を銅線で縫い合わせ、締め上げることで、型枠を使わずに複雑な形態を実現している。
